Red Flags on Uro ads?

Am I the only one who has noticed ads for Uroplatus imports that contain several pics, but not one of them includes the tail? That's a big red flag for me, so be careful when you're looking at these guys because the tail curling is the number one sign of a distressed Leaftail.

I was just talking to Luis about this. Anyone who is looking for a Uroplatus should look at the tails... If they say Hydrated/Healthy and the tails are not in the photo or curled... question it or if its seen and curled the Hydrations is not true... Needs water.

Just be cautious with these. Not saying you shouldn't buy, but understand they need care, attention to survive!

When multiple vendors begin offering Uroplatus all at once, that is a red flag...

Most WC Uroplatus are sold within a week or two of arriving into the country. This gives them no time to properly acclimate to captive life in any reasonable interpretation of the process. In the first few weeks of being captured, they receive little to no water, leaving their tails looking more like a ciliatus than a Uroplatus.
