my cat snatched my little buddy from off my shoulder. its never happened before. now he has a huge chunk of skin ripped off. is he gonna die? is there some kind of care or treatment i can do to help him. ive help injured reptiles before but never a gecko. so far my research has told me that their skin tears easily but nothing about what to do if that happens. any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. he is the coolest pet ive ever had and i dont want to loose him.

if the skin is hanging he might need a stitch or two to hold it in place. He might also need antibiotics if the wound is open. As long as the initial shock of the injury doesn't stress him so much that it kills him most geckos heal fairly well. If he were mine I'd be taking him into a vet just to make sure his injuries aren't worse than I think ASAP.

thank you very much for the advice. scooter (thats him) is doing ok. it was a very large wound but ive been keeping him clean and on antibiotics. he has been eating regularly now and i think he will be ok as long as i can maintain a sterile environment while he heals. but he is definitely the same happy little guy that he used to be.
