African Banded Velvet Gecko Care...

I recently brought my first gecko, an African Banded Velvet. I was wondering if anyone had any specific care info for it as the internet seems to be a bit vague concering them.

Also, he seems to avoid the floor and only walks around the walls. I'm using a coco-fibre substrate, slightly dampened. Is it anything to do with that or is it just something they do?

Also, the end centimeter of his tail is a light grey color and looks sort of dead. I've read that this can be due to a bad shed or being attacked, but there's no sign of marks or blood. Is there anything I should do about it?

Thank you for any help you provide.

Believe it or not I tried that, I just thought a forum on geckos may be able to help me. Apparently I was wrong...

Check out geckosunlimited.com if you haven't found it already. I think there are a lot more people over there who keep geckos other than leopards.

please chill . granted you should have done your research before getting the gecko you have it know so why squabble.
I keep my pairs in ten gallon talk with a coco fiber sand mix they are arboreal so provide some height to the tank. keep them fairly dry I spray mine down a small amount in a corner of their enclosure every night or even every other night I provide and under tank heater at the side of their tank BUT the heat pad is not directly attached to the tank it is adhered to a peace of plexi and rests between tanks so the surface temp of the glass is between about 85 to 89 degrees F. they prefer rocky out cropings so I have provided mine with some wood and lots of volcanic type rocks and stones built up making lots of crevices for them to hide. they are nocturnal so I will find them basking on their warm side wall at night and often times will see them hanging out up side down on the ceiling of their tank.

I'll post pix of their set ups in a little bit to give you an idea.
