Phelsuma help

first off hello I'm new here

i have a question of concern in regards to our day gecko pair. They are the newest to our happy reptile family and we have only had them for a little over a month now so we are still getting used to their behavior. this evening i went to mist the tank before heading to bed and noticed that covering the stick above and in the water dish (where they usually "do their business") there was a large amount of what quite frankly looked like sperm. now they have laid an egg before (2nd day we had them) and they are a captive breed pair. I'm a little concerned as to how much of this liquid there was so I'm searching here for answers. thank you for your time just want to know Sticky and Lilly are ok

A picture would be very helpful. It would also be good to know which type of phelsuma you have. I doubt a day gecko could produce enough sperm to be noticeable and have never had the experience of any gecko spraying it around. It's possible that something from the environment got into the water dish and then dissolved all over the place.

sorry they are grandes or Madagascar giant day geckos. I didn't take a picture and it is long gone. figured at the time clean water was most important. ill try to describe it better for you. not to sound crude but it 98% looked like mammalian seamen. gelatinous cloudy with semi transparent outer. did not resemble urea in any way form or smell. nor did it smell of anything (vomit etc..). Both Sticky and Lilly seem to be just fine however acting normal and very interested in food. hope this helps more. it was late last night when I posted the tread so it lacked detail.

I wouldn't worry about it. I don't think gecko pee smells like mammal pee, so it could have been that.

i meant it didn't smell like reptilian urea. guess ill just keep an eye on them
