My new hides and food/water/calcium dish holder

I have spent the last couple of days working on this and although I am not an artist at all, I think it looks OK. Not exactly the look I was going for, but as long as it does it's job I will be happy. :D My tank sits in the living room and it's an eyesore with tupperware. LOL! I had to fix it.

I made a hide that fits around a tupperware dish for the humid hide, a hot hide, a cold hide, and a food/water/calcium dish holder. The dish holder will have terra cotta clay bowls in them. Has anyone used these types of bowls? I know I can sanitize them, but I just wanted to make sure there are no known problems that I didn't think of. :main_huh: I still need to paint the inside of these and then seal them, but this is what they will look like and the positioning of them in the tank. I know it's pretty squished in size (I made them a bit too big), but they can climb on them and I am also going to do a second level to give them more room. I just can't do it right this second. :) What do you guys think? Thanks!

Thanks everyone. I did it all out of styrofoam, grout, acrylic paint, and then I am sealing with Mod Podge with a bit of sand sprinkled on for texture. It was a lot of fun, but time consuming. :)

they look awesome... but... ¿what is mod podge?... i hear about it all the time, but no one every says what it really is... even on DIY stuff i google, they never say exactly what it is or where to get it...

lol... sorry...

and i don't think terra cotta will be a problem... my worm dish is terra cotta but with a layer of some smooth stuff in the inside... very easy to clean, although if my hands are dirty they will get dirty super fast...

Mod Podge is a non-toxic sealer used for crafts and such. It's basically elmer's glue or the puzzle saving glue you see in stores. I don't think it's exactly like those, but just giving you an idea of where to find it in the stores and what to look for. I ended up using polycrylic (water-based) sealer instead of the mod podge and now I am airing them out so I won't be adding them to the tank until they are fume free. :)
