Here's my current project. Its coming along pretty well, and I'm very happy with it.

Full tank shot (you can see my Uro in the reflection on the back of the tank lol)

Top of the hides. I made a little basking platform in the one corner as Rowan, the leo who will be housed in this tank, loves to snuggle into uneven surfaces under the heat lamp. I've got a 75 watt heat lamp, but this set up will bring him about 6 inches from the bulb. I'll have to work out a timing system to keep him from getting burned if her spends too much time up there.

Inside of the hides. The right side will hold a tubberware for his wet hide.

Removed the "sand dune" to show how it inter locks with the main part of the background. The hides will be siliconed to the background, and the top of them will be velcro'd on for easy cleaning. With the background solid, the hides would keep the whole piece from being removed from the tank. I'm glad I figured that out before everything was put together and grouted! I will scrape the outside layers edges down with a razor knife to round the out.

And my grout. Its a little more yellowy, but you get the idea. I think I'm gunna buy some water color paints so that I can make highlights and lowlights over top the grout, so its not one giant glob of yellow.

I'm waiting on the silicon holding the two layers of the dune to dry before I can do much else. Any tips, or building/decorating ideas would be great!

Almost done! Plainted most of the grout on last night, and tomorrow or so I'll paint the last bit (The top of the hides), and I also want to get some brown acrylic paint and add some high lights for interest.

It's going great! I had to take it easy on the budget for a while, but the other night I went out to Hobby Lobby (God I love that store!) and bought a few things of poster paint (cheaper than the other paints lol), and some mod podge. Just need to find the time to do the high lights, and seal the whole thing. Then I need to get cracking on the other two tanks I'm doing (40 breeder, and DIY 19"x28").

Do you have any more pictures of your project? I'm really digging the design! I want to do something similar after I move to a place with space for a bigger tank. :)
