Thanks I found my other feigning death beetle, Biggie, I was starting to think that it may have died from shipping stress.

Darn beetles are champion hiders... I have to continually resist the urge to rip things apart looking for them, as I sometimes don't spot them for days.

I have figured out that they like to hide under the cork bark or the rock I have on top of one of the hides, I do want to order a blue feigning death beetle at some point. Ziggy is adapting much better to the new home and of course he decides to poop on the complete opposite side of the tank where the cleaner bugs rarely wander, so I pick it up and place it where the plants are. Once I get some morio beetles, I hope they clean up better than mealworm beetles, I found out all the mealworm beetles care about is making babies and do a crap job at cleaning....

That was my first sign that he was starting to enjoy this.

Free range roach feeding, he made a bit of a mess and I found no particulates in his poop.

"Basking." I do not have a UVB light but I caught him doing this one day last week.

No clue what he was doing here besides moving.

I have noticed he will come out during the day more since I made the switch to bio, before I never caught him walking around during the day :huh2:

You definitely can develop bioactive crested gecko enclosures. There's a lot of great resources online for gecko safe plants and developing bioactive substrate.

Some picture updates, it's been a while. Ziggy is getting more used to the idea of sharing his tank with his select few janitors and I retired mealworm beetles for superworm beetles because they clean better. I still catch him out basking either in the afternoon or middle of the day, I'm not a early morning person :main_laugh:
