Ball Python Tank?

So I've been thinking about getting a ball python in the near future, and I've recently found a 55gal tank. I was wondering if a 55gal with dimensions of 48"x13"x21" would be big enough for one BP... I know tanks need to be long enough to allow it to stretch out, but I wasn't sure. This would be my first snake; I want to make sure I take care of it properly.:)

if you get a full grown ball python that will be fine, but if you get a baby or young ball a large tank can stress the snake out which will in turn lead to feeding issues. for a baby or yearling i would stick to a 10-20 gal. i know the reply is late but i hope it helps, good luck with your new snake
