Is this a Golden Gecko?

Hey there! Sorry if this post is in the wrong forum/section new to this site

My neighbor asked if we wanted a gecko and being an animal lover of course I said yes!
I have owned other reptiles before but have never seen this kind of gecko a few people told me it looks like a crested gecko minus the crest lol then someone suggested Golden or Tokyo i believe was the other kind
Was hoping someone who owns one or knows about them could tell me if the one I have is a Golden or tokyo gecko ^-^

I also just read some people use live plants in there habitats and thought that was pretty cool and was hoping to get some suggestions on that like what plants are safe for this kind of gecko/ Is there anything to watch out for using live plants in a habitat?

Also when we got him/her I noticed that the tip of the tail looks like it had broken/fallen off do they grow back on these kinds of geckos? I have not handled him because of that not sure if it would cause stress he/she is also very skitish so I don't attempt to handle

Oh! and the pic's are him/her in a "lighter" form sometimes the skin is a brown/tan color and the stripes are not as visible

Golden gecko. The other gecko is a Tokay and it blue and red/orange.
