Hi! I will be getting my gecko pretty soon from a local person selling him. My sister wants one too. We both want females. But we will be buying them from different people (btw the geckos are over a year old). Can we house them together or no since they have never met each other. Also can we change their diet from only mealworms to mealworms and crickets? Meal worms one feeding day crickets the next feeding day.

Hi there! From personal experience, I would not house your girls together. Geckos housed together can and will fight over hides, heat, and food due to dominance issues. When I got my first girls, they'd been kept as a pair and the smaller of the two had large scratches and small wounds on her back from the larger gecko, even though they'd been together most of their lives. I would not risk it! As for the diet, I've always just fed my girls mealies dusted every other day with calcium and vitamins and they are perfectly healthy! In my opinion, I don't think a varied diet is necessary unless you want them to get more exercise with the crickets!

From what I understand, mealworms are a good staple diet as long as they are dusted and gut loaded!

Im new here but i must chime in

From what i have experienced and studied, There are always positives to feeding a varied diet. As long as your not feeding poisonous or dangerous feeders , any animals can greatly benefit from as varied diet.

Meal worms are ok, but ask other people and you will find their are many other food that in moderation are great for your gecko in the long run.
