Clear discharge

When I went to go pick up one of my juvenile leopard geckos to feed it I noticed what I assume to be clear discharge at the base of the tail where the geckos sex is determined. I didn't know what it was so I immediately freaked out and tried to look up what it was, but I couldn't find anything about it. I was hoping someone could help me by telling me what it is and if it is something I need to worry about. I don't have a picture of it, because I tried to find out what it was before I took a picture of it, but when I found nothing the discharge was no longer there, so I wasn't able to get a picture of it. Also if this is something normal and it only occurs in either male or female geckos that would be helpful to know, because I'm still clueless on whether or not my gecko is a male or female. All help is very much appreciated. Thank you.
