Hello, people of this fine forum. My name is Ecko. I am fifteen years old (Or young, depending on if you think of life as a glass of water being "half full" or "half empty") and love reptiles. I am "new" to the collecting and breeding world, but I am not new to the reptile part of it. I have been keeping reptiles since I was two years old. My first snake was a bull snake I caught as a kid, I didn't keep him long, just throughout the summer but he grew to four feet. That was bigger than me at the time! My sister had leopard geckos growing up and two years ago I got into them. I have a super hypo tangerine carrot tail baldy, she was a rescue. I got her from a pet store who saved her from someone. I got her for like ten bucks because the odds of her survivng were slim. She was very sickly but I took her in and gave her love and care and now she is still a member of the family. I've had her for almost three years now. I also had a blazing blizzard I also rescued and gave him to a family friend who was a reptile whisperer. He is no longer with us as he had cancer, but I shall have his memory live on with this collection and breeding program. My best friend Sara and I plan on having a few geckos and breeding them. I have a well paying job currently and am saving up my money. I am looking for good morphs that have lots of color or unique patterns. (If anyone has any morphs in mind that they would like to share with me message me or post on this thread.)
To whoever is reading this, I have a few opinon questions: What do you think is better; plastic tubs or bins, or glass tanks? If plastic tubs, where do you like to store them? Bookshelves or racks of some sort? How do you prefer to heat them?
And with that out of the way, feel free to talk about your favorite morphs, your collection, your set ups, and how you care for your geckos, snakes, frogs, newts, turtles, or whatever creature you happen to have. The more I know how people close to my age run their set up, the more I can run mine successfully.
Thanks for reading, I'm always open for reptile conversations and making gecko buddies. I'll talk to you again soon, amigos.

Welcome to GF. I keep my leopard geckos in front-opening glass tanks which I prefer greatly to tubs. Maybe some of the tub people will respond to your heating question,

Welcome. I don't breed leos, only breed AFT geckos. I keep them on plastic tubs on a Animal Plastic rack with heat tape that runs on a thermostat. We also have very few ball pythons and many blood pythons.

Welcome!

I think racks with plastic bins are good for hatchlings or other geckos that need things a bit quieter and contained, but for adults, I prefer having display caging, either tanks or stackable cages with front doors. I know plenty of people keep all their geckos in racks successfully, but I really like to enrich the environment and be able to interact with my lizards without pulling out drawers. :)

I've got two display glass tanks. A 55 gallon for my bearded dragon, and a 20 long for my favorite, chillest male Leo. My other 7 leos are in tubs. Its less stressful for them IMO. I'm building a rack now for them and next years hatchlings.
Enjoy your stay here on the forums, I know I do!

Thanks for your guys' feedback!! I think I'll mix it up with the tanks and tubs, It will vary from Leo to Leo. Chance live in a tank and seems to not get out much but watches everything from the inside of the tank. She likes to get out so she will probably stay in her tank.
