Hi everyone, my name is Nate I'm 22 years old andvery new to owning creatures of the cold blooded variety. As a kid I always wanted a lizard, several of my childhood friends had beardies or Leo's. Well finally this past Christmas my fiancé and sister wanted to help fulfill that dream for me of having my very own Leo. She was purchased at a large chain (not ideal I know, they didn't know) but sadly she passed away today. It was sad but it was a learning experience for everyone involved. Anyhow this site truly is a wealth of information and I appreciate all the input from everyone. I'm looking for a good breeder to buy another leopard gecko from as to avoid the large chains. So if anyone can help me with the choice of breeder as there are so many I'd greatly appreciate. Happy holidays and new year!

Welcome to GF. Sorry you had a bad experience. Looking for a breeder is a good idea. I know I've seen some breeders from Idaho, though I don't remember who they are. I'm confident you'll find someone you can buy a gecko from.

Thanks a lot, yeah it was a rough first experience for everyone. We located a reptile vet this morning and she died on the way there. She had been acting strange since we brought her home and had constant shakes and was gaping her mouth and throwing up often. The employees on the phone said it all sounded normal for a new environment which I knew was totally wrong. Anyhow, I'm really wanting to find a good breeder so I can finally have a leo to call my own. Im in northern Idaho specifically Coeur D Alene, so if anyone knows of a good breeder near me that helps me out a lot, otherwise I don't mind buying online if anyone has input as to good sources.
