Hey y'all!

I decided to move out of the snake breeding business in 2014, and just sold my last pair two weeks ago. I am now looking into the breeding business of geckos in a couple years when my girls are older.

A little bit about me: my name is Kayla. I'm 22. I have been living in NC with my long-term boyfriend for 1 year. Before that, I lived in South Carolina for three years. And before that I was living with my family in Massachusetts. I've owned reptiles since I was 4. I had a bunch of anoles. Now, I manage the reptile section in a local pet store. I have been breeding snakes for years, but my boyfriend walked in on of my my nasty eaters and freaked out. Thus, I decided to geckos, which do not eat rats.

I currently have a pair of crested geckos, not sure their sex or hatch date (someone abandoned 8 babies outside the store one night I took home the frogbutts) but I got them when they were 1 gram in March. They both have grown so much.

i just got my first leopard geckos a month ago. Two girls. I will breed them when they are older. Just have to figure out all the details. Probably won't be for another 3 years, so I have time.

Thanks for listening. I'm sure I'll be posting around, I have a bit to catch up on. It's been a long time since I've had geckos.

Welcome to GF. Enjoy your geckos. I think it's a good idea to have a 3 year plan so you have time to figure out the details.

I think I may have seen a picture of your set up. If you have the little leos on sand I would switch off of sand ASAP.

Welcome to the group. North Carolina is a great area, I worked in the Greensboro area for 10 years. Just like acpart said its good to have a long term plan it gives you time to do your research and really do it right the first time. Good luck.

I know it's bad. It's actually crushed walnut (not much of a difference) and I soaked it so it's packed. Temporary fix. Will be getting tiles in the next week. I just have to buy a new car first. Mine completely gave up on me. :(

I actually live in Greensboro. I love it here. Great area.
