What is the temperature of the tank in the hot side vs cool side? Do you have a thermometer to control the heat pad temperature? If you absolutely need a extra heat source, you could get a black heat lamp. No white or red lamps, they can harm the Leo's eyes, and stress them out. The lamp shouldn't have to be too powerful if you already have a heat mat

There's no control over the heat pad. We have a hide sat directly over the area where the heat pad is, inside of which they have dug down closer to it. So I think I'll try to get a temperature reading in there to try to get an idea of the temperature at ground level.
