I got this girl today from someone who apparently didnt know what they were doing, This poor girl had no heat light, no heat mat, no hides, and not even a tank lid. She stated that she gets outs all the time and "never goes far" and that she has slept with her in the bed before? and I was like Really??? anyway when I got her she was cold, and stuck shed on the tip of her tail and was not very happy. Now she is a happy camper :) Anyway, I was told from this lady that she is a Pastel, I was told from a local small breeder that she is a Dinker. I was just wondering what ya'll thought?

Looks like a Normal to me. As far as a dinker..... cool pattern, but I don't really see anything unusual or unique about her. It seems as though there are thousands of people with Normal BP's that refer to them as dinkers. Heck, when I had BP's I thought every Normal I had in my collection was a dinker... at least in my eyes. lol. I would just call her a nice looking Normal with a cool pattern.

Here is one of my Pastel girls to compare to if you were curious.

You can see the faded head and the blushing (where the black fades) on the back and sides. This is not the highest quality Pastel but she is a pretty nice example of one.

Thank you very much! I think she is very pretty as well. I tried to look at dinkers online and I couldnt tell a difference between a normal and a dinker. and I thought the pastels was a lot lighter than her so I didnt really think she was a pastel. She is a sweet girl and has already ate for me tonight! So that makes me happy! I have a male ball in a different tank (not even in the same room incase she was to be carrying something that he can catch) and my males name is DaVinchi and I named her "Mona" Lisa :)

also, either way I got her for 70 dollars. and she came with 2 packs of pinkies (which is to small for her) and 2 packs of fuzzies (which is to small for her) a tank and the rest of her shavings so I think I got a pretty good deal :) and btw your pastel is a pretty girl :)

That is a very good idea to quarantine any new animal. I quarantine for 90 days.
"Dinkers" are basically Normals that may have some sort of "look" that is different in some way. Weather it be color or pattern. Breeders breed these "dinkers" to see if the trait (whatever it may be) is passed on to the babies. Sometimes it is genetic, most cases it is just a random thing. I have found that majority of BP breeders have some sort of "dinker" project at one time or another. It's just like anyone that breeds leos.... everyone would love to be the one to fine the next big thing. (Myself included) lol. Can't blame anyone for trying.

Deff a normal. Dinker is a term used to descibe some characteristic that may be genetic but honestly most of the time not. Here is a pic of one of my top notch pastel adult females for ref

Thank you Ashley she really is a beautiful girl in person and yeah there are so many stereotypes about pythons. So many people think they all get huge

I bet so! She is gorgeous! And yeah my dad flipped out a little to. He lives in Florida so they get the BIG ones..lol He said they they were gonna eat the girls. I told him that they are ball pythons, Not Rock Pythons and Burmese Pythons like they have in Florida. I told him to do his research that Google was an excellent source to start...lol
