What kind should I get?

I am thinking about getting a bearded dragon in the summer. That gives me some time to save up money and everything. I have around $350 or a little less as of right now. I would like to get a red bearded dragon with tiger patterns. I don't know how common that is and how much they would cost. Could someone help me with that? Of course I would want it as a baby or juvi so I could tame it. Other than the Beardie I talked about, what kind do you guys find that you like and would be good for me? Thank all of you in advance.

As for color, it's all up to you. Beardie's do get big fairly quickly so you would need to make sure you have an adequate sized enclosure. Check Craigslist for aquariums that people are selling, I've seen some nice big ones for around $100.

Check out Signature Design Exotics in RI on Facebook and think about getting a beardie at the Manchester NH reptile show this summer. Contact them in advance to see what they have that will work for you.
Remember to consider some of the ongoing costs of keeping a beardie:
--if you get a very young one, they eat an awful lot of crickets each day
--you will need to have a florescent light that provides UVA&B and will have to replace it every 6 months to keep the UV constant (about $25 each time)
--You'll need to have a steady supply of fresh greens and avoid giving them only the calcium binding ones like spinach and kale

That said, I have 2 and think they make really wonderful pets.
