My baby crested gecko won't let me hold him.

I've had my crested gecko Latte for 5 days now. Whenever I want to try and pick him and he just runs and jumps away. Whenever I try to pet him atleast he does the same. I'm not sure how many months he is but he's 3 inches in length. Also, when I bought him his tail was already dropped. Please help me, I want to interact with my crested gecko . I don't feed him bugs btw.

5 days isnt enough time to hold him. Geckos need time to get used to their surroundings and especially when you put them in a new enclosure. So if you been trying to hold him for the last 5 days, imagine how freaked out he must be! Especially because he's so tiny, also. Cresties are always always jumpers. I have one that's the size of my hand and will just jump on my face! Just keep in mind that he is young, and give him a week or two to settle down. I know the wait sounds like torture, but it'll be worth it I promise

I'm having the same issue but, I've read to wait 14 days so they get used everything.
