Site Upgrade Issues

Post any site upgrade issues you have in this thread. It can be items that you notice are missing, not working properly, not viewing correctly, styling and etc.......

Congrats on your new venture! Only thing I notice was not having the classifieds/business Inquiries/ Etc buttons on the top of the page for quick easy access

Congrats on the purchase. Look forward to seeing how the forums will evolve again under new direction. I was wondering what is going to happen to those site sponsors (myself included) who had paid slots? Obviously the classifieds section. Also, is there going to be a change in rules and/or policies that needs to be addressed? Congrats again Thad

Thanks Kent! The update completely removed the old styling of the site. I will be slowly piecing it back together again. I really liked the old template myself and I will get the new GF to look as similar as possible.

Thanks Travis! My #1 concern with the site being down was with the paid sponsors. All sponsors on the site will get one additional month of sponsoring added on to their subscriptions.

The classified sections is up and running. I don't have the link on top set but you can get to them by scrolling down on the homepage.

The rules/policies on GF have worked well so far. I'm open to any ideas that will make this a better site/community for our members. If you have any suggestions or concerns you can post them here or PM me directly.

I don't have any suggestions at the moment. The only thing I would suggest is to have moderators who actually participate, knowledgeable, and not bias.

I'm guilty of this myself. It is hard not to be bias just because we are human. As a MOD, speaking for myself, I see the same thing over and over and eventually become somewhat callus to some posts. I do think something needs to be done to bring some more "positive" excitement to the forums.

If its possible, I like how another site (FC) does their personal classifieds management. Where you can manage your own ads under the UserCP. Makes life a bit easier especially if you have multiple ads.

Color scheme much harder for (at least my eyes) to read.
Other persons personal posts in my personal area.

I really feel that you are handling everyone's requests in a postive way. The problem I saw in the last few months were the lack of moderators and the lack of discipline. I need someone to put me in my place before I get in too much trouble lol. As far as the layout, I just think people hate change (myself included). But, everyone will get used to it and will be no problem at all. Geckoforums really did need a new face and I am now glad to see these changes happening.

I would love to be able to edit classified ads again. I hate having to post a reply when something sells since we can only bump them twice.

Change for this website has been long overdue. I like the new logo, and feel very positive that the changes will be for the better once people get used to it. My hope is that the new Admin and Mods (if any) will take a more active roll in the success of this website. On a personal note, I also hope that I can let go of past hurts and resentments relating to being Admin for this website and become a valuable member once again. Best wishes, Thad!
