I've had a great season this year, 6 "aligator lizards" (Elgaria Multicarnata as I recall) , Kept two (The legal limit for this state) and I'm attemting a breeding, I won't be keeping the young. Several friends want one, because the parents are so docile. When I get a better camera, I'll be sure to drop some pics.

Also saw a garter at the river and quite a few "Blue bellies" or fence lizard.

Been a great season.....

Looks like the eggs in the wild have all hatched, lots of little alligators out here.
I'll see if'n I can get some good pics, but my camera doesn't macro, so don't expect a miracle! haha.

I'm not used to so much red, so she is quite special to me.

Several years ago, I found 2 very tiny neonate alligator lizards (Elgaria multicarinata multicarinata) in my house in early Winter. I had a spare 10-gal tank set up in a naturalistic environment, and kept them until Spring. They grew (huge!) and thrived, and even sat in my hand to eat mealworms! I turned them loose on the ivy covered hill in my back yard, and always wondered what became of them. They were quite lovely, and one of them had quite a bit of red coloration. I regret never taking any photos of them.

Yeah, that is a really pretty red. I've caught tons of alligator lizards before, but they're always green or brown and green. That's really pretty.
