Thats about the stupidest thing I have heard someone trying to do. I love that it had a microchip, and the owner saw the snake. Somebody should smack that dude in the head with a tack hammer.

If you ask me he just hurt the "cause" more than helped it.

Oh yeah I'm educated! I learned he's an a-hole!

He just fueled the mass hysteria about reptiles that is making its way into the news and reaching the public faster and faster each and every single day! What did people see when this first story was aired, "oh no first that little girl is said to be suffocated by a snake, now they're making their way into our daycare system".

What if the hoax went wrong?! That snake should have been in its home as long as it was being properly cared for. Flaunting the snake around town and to the media could have left room for human error which would have been his own. The snake getting loose, stolen, hurt, etc. just because he wanted to "educate." To me his little lesson was in really bad taste.

You want to educate.. Go to petstores and ask if you could hold a little presentation every month so new owners passing by could see what they're getting into if they choose to ever by an exotic animal. Contact breeders, petshops in your area and write up a pamphlet or the dangers of releasing into the wild, proper husbandry and a number to call if you can no longer keep them and ask them to hand it out with every purchase, help pass better laws, drive around with a big sign on your car, i dunno. anything else seemed as if it would have been better.

The even bigger problem with this whole mess is that I have not seen any update on this. I mean nothing at all about it being a hoax. That in its own right is the twisted part. It's like the media do not want to show the whole story, and just leave it as being a capture of a supposedly dangerous animal.

As of yesterday's news report, he's being charged with falsifying a police report.
He's getting off too easy, IMO.
Give it time. He'll be run out of FL within a year.
