Someone broke into my apartment yesterday.
I just got a call from one of my roommates.
So far I know that the front door was kicked in and my door was broken.
She only knows that my TV, PS3, its games, and controllers were taken. These were in the living room. I guess I am returning home early so I can see what was taken from my room.
I then need to call the police to finish up the police report. My roommate already called the police to report what she knew was taken.
I do have renter's insurance but that can't fix how sick, scared, and violated I feel.
I am glad I took my gecko home with me, I have no idea if he would still be there if I hadn't.
This really kinda destroys my holiday happiness.

I'm so sorry. Someone breaking in is one of my big fears. I'd be afraid to stay at home.

A good friend of mine had someone break in while he was home with friends.
The person have a knife and got them to lay down while he ran sacked the place. My friend went to reach for his chihuhua and got kicked in the face.
He is very nervous now. He bought a rottweiler to deter people down the road.

I have three dogs myself and they give me peace at night when my husband isnt home. Someone would have to be crazy to break into my house.

I wish I could have my big dog with me here to be honest, but I think he is on the breed restriction list. He is a boxer/pitbull mix and the biggest sweety ever. All I need is a dog that can have a big scary bark to deter people from breaking into the apartment.

I am actually partly glad I wasn't here when it happened. You never know what a person or group of people are likely to do if they are already willing to break the law. My fiance bought me pepper spray just so I'd feel a bit safer and I take it everywhere now. Though the first night being alone in the apartment made me nervous and I couldn't sleep. Now one of my roommates is back from winter break so I feel a bit better. The other one is coming later this week. And the third roommate is moving out

Other than that, remember the roommate from my other post who had a puppy which she quickly traded in for a kitten? She is the one moving out and she gave me the kitten. Of course this was after she had locked it in her room and left the apartment to live with her aunt. So for 3-4 days the kitten didn't have any human contact, food, or water. The kitten is now in my care and is getting plenty of love, attention, water, and 3 meals a day. I had to give her a bath because she was kind of dirty, clip her nails, and clean her ears. The kitten, Sasha, still needs to get spayed and I will get that taken care of this weekend. She is currently lying on the floor tired from playing.
