I use Dreamweaver CS3 for layout and photoshop CS3, fireworks CS3, flash CS3 and illustrator CS3 for my graphics. I basically used the entire CS3 master collection to create my current site.

I have Dreamweaver 8, but have been thinking of upgrading to CS3.
Cody - Did you ever use Dreamweaver 8? How do you like the CS3 version? It is on my list to give my websites a facelift and have been wondering if the new version is worth upgrading to.

I have used version 8. To me there is not a huge difference between it and CS3. The interface is the same and I believe they have done a few tweaks with CSS. Other than that I haven't noticed anything new.

I use an open source editor called notepad ++
It can be found here: http://notepad-plus.sourceforge.net/uk/site.htm
I don't like frontpage because it adds a lot of extra code you don't need. The CS3 products Cody mentioned are great tools. Just very expensive.

i started out using dreamweaver 4 and flash 4 wayyyy back when....i think currently i have version 8 of the macromedia suite and cs2 of the adobe suite. I havent installed them on my new computer though as i havent done any web design in a few months. Honestly though through the different releases they have mainly stayed similar with some cosmetic changes and then some code adjustments to stay up with the current standards.
When i do design pages i usually lay it out in photoshop and then from there put it to flash or dreamweaver depending upon the application, so id say photoshop is the backbone of any work i do.Last edited by ataber; 11-03-2007 at 01:30 PM.

I use Dreamweaver MX (heh), I need to upgrade soon as well as notepad++ like Larry mentioned. The biggest thing to understand is a combination of products, for coding and graphic design, make a better rounded site in most cases, as well as extensive knowledge of code.

Dreamweaver is a glorified notepad for me. I use it for the code coloring, line numbers, and mostly the site management. I'ts nice to just pull a drop down and jump to any one of your sites you have set up.
Notepad++ is nice on the fly, but if I'm FTPing, I use Dreamweaver.
Ditto.
