The following post is meant for ALL GF members to read, so please, no one take this personally.
The GeckoForums.net Chat is a feature of the site that is available for all of our members to talk about geckos and other aspects of their lives. It has been a great place for members to get to know each other better and socialize.
Unfortunately, here recently there have been several instances of members breaking the T.O.S. in a big way in the chat room. Some examples of this are as follows: members threatening other members with violence, members using explicit profanity, members discussing illegal drug use, and members discussing graphic sexual topics.
I want to make it very clear that the majority of the GF members that utilize the chat do so in a respectful manner and do not make a habit of participating in the above examples. Sadly there are some that cannot seem to respect this website or me enough to curb this kind of behavior, even after repeated warnings.
Many of our GF members are under the age of 18, and we have several active members that are young teenagers. I have to put myself in the shoes of the parents of these children and think about how I would feel if my child were in the chat reading some of the things that are posted there. I would not appreciate it at all.
I pay for the chat feature every month, and I do so gladly, and will continue to do so. However, because of all the problems chat is closed further notice. :main_no:
