Gecko forums iphone and Android phone application!

Recently iv been unable to get on the forums due to my laptop breaking down on me however my iphone as usual has saved me because i can access GF through safari but its frustrating because of the text size etc and having to zoom in to look at threads. But i had the thought that it would make an awesome app for gecko lovers everwhere on the move etc.. Gecko knowledge at your fingertips!
Obviously these things take time effort and money but it would be purely amazing if GF made an iphone app :D just a thought lol! A lot of blog sites like wordpress have been made into apps and they even managed to make facebook a decent app. Has anybody thought the same?

wow i didnt think that my idea wouldgo anywhere :D awesome! unfortunatly i don't have the "know-how" to do it but imsure there are loads of people out there who would love to do it!
keep me updated on progress though :D

There are a few apps out there that let you view forums on the iPhone. Tapatalk is one of them. You have to add a bit of code to the site for it to work, but this would be infinitely easier than starting from scratch. Here is the page for forum owners: http://www.tapatalk.com/plugin

I would absolutely LOVE for my favorite forums to use this feature!

Making iphone apps are free from what I understand. You just need an apple computer and the programs (which are free to download).

I agree with Nancy, it'd probably be easier to use that app and just later it to work for GF. It's $2.99 for people to buy it to use on iPhone, but free fro forum owners to set up.

You could probably view via an RSS feed. Some forums have RSS feeds that all you'd have to do is download and RSS reader to the iPhone and insert the feed.

OK I got it all set up! I just downloaded the app for "Tapatalk" on my Android phone and it works great! There is an application for IPhone as well, just search "tapatalk".

Can someone with an IPhone please download the app and verify that it is working properly for them as well? Thanks!

It let me download the free app and I could view everything but when I tried to reply to this thread it said that I needed to upgrade to the full version. I think $3 is an alright price for people who use geckoforums on their phone a lot though. It had some other special features with the full version like shake to reply, the ability to upload photos, and more.

I just downloaded the app. It works great for me! Thanks a lot! Also it will take time to get used to I like the feel of the forum in safari on my phone. On the app there is just a white page with titles no background or color. I have not tried to post pictures or view them but everything else is running smooth! Thanks again.
After typing this I added a picture. I will be glad to test anything else out!
