Server move imminent

We will be moving GeckoForums.net to a new and (hopefully) more reliable server sometime in the next 24 hours (probably on the sooner side). Be prepared for a few hours of shutdown time. The forum will close here and reopen on the new server when the DNS has propagated. You should be prepared to flush your DNS cache and restart your browsers. If you don't know how to do that for your operating system, use Google or consult your operating system manual.

Unless absolutely necessary, please avoid uploading attachments or or adding to your galleries as I am starting to make copies now. If your attachment or photos fail to survive the move, post in THIS thread and I will attend to them individually. Obviously, the fewer of these the better. :) Do not PM me about missing photos as I will not respond to them, and likely won't even read them.

We're good to go here as of 1:05AM EST and I've reopened the site at the new server.

Please report any issues in this thread.

One thing, the mass message sent out went to my junk box, wich may be an issue for others. As far as i was concerned we were still moving(its what the site said). I cleared out my DNS and its back to norm, you may want to make sure people got the first so they know what to do.

I have no idea of what announcement you're talking about since I didn't send out any announcement, but sending out a second bulk email when your first one is being labeled spam is sure way to get you listed on multiple RBL's [1]. This site has always had a proper SPF record [2] and there is a proper reverse DNS [3] entry for the mailserver's IP address. I know because I have created them myself. We also have used DKIM [4] for several years, minimizing the chances of rejects from remote servers. What I can't tell you, since I haven't seen the email in question, is whether vBulletin adds the proper "Precedence: bulk" header [5]. Without that, many email providers will simply designate multiple identical or nearly identical emails as spam and treat them as such.
