i was wondering if i can use things like cypress mulch or eco earth, i know some people use sand but the sand has to be less then .5 mm which i cant find any help ?
I used to keep my leos on sand until both of my lovely girls got eye infections and died sadly. only my male survived and I don't use sand any more. I also have to new girls now.
I would say your safest bet is paper towels, repti carpet( they can get they're toes stuck), or tile. but I'm a little protective now after loosing two of my most loved geckos. there's a lot of debate about what kind of substrate is the best. good luck!
No, do not use mulch or eco earth. Sand is not a good substrate to use either, it can cause impaction. If you do choose to use sand, make sure they're at least 6" in length. Babies should never be put on sand.
I personally use a reptile carpet. Some people use slate tiles from home depot or lowes. I believe it's like $1 for a 12x12x12 slate, but don't quote me on that.
