I wrote a letter. This is a complete JOKE! How is banning a beautiful, docile creature like the Ball Python helping anyone? It will put countless people out of work and create an illegal network for acquiring them. Totally ridiculous. SIGN IT PEOPLE, if they pass this, whats's next??? Bearded dragons? Leopard Geckos?????? Let Washington know we won't stand for this!

This is USARK's red alert call to action!!!! Serious business folks!!!!! Please submit your letters immediately and follow thru until you have received confirmation that your letters have been sent. A minimum of 25,000 letters are needed yesterday. Stand up and be counted, let our lawmakers hear the collective voice of the reptile nation!!!!!! Do they not have better things to do than make criminals of families who own reptiles while our education and health care systems are broken?????

I just realized that at the top right of the page is the link. That's awesome Kelli!

For those of you who aren't going to bother writing or signing anything because you don't have any constrictor snakes, remember this….if they pass this bill, then guess what's next?? That's right, they will start making their way down the line of other exotic pets and the next thing you know they will want to take away our geckos. We need to take a stand as a community of reptile keepers to try and stop this ban on constrictor snakes.

I was thinking about this earlier and thought that a lot of the "Gecko" people wouldn't do anything because it doesn't effect them and then I ran across this quote I found on another forum that hit home for our situation. Take a look at what Martin Niemoller, a concentration camp survivor said once…..

"First they came for the Communists, but I was not a Communist, so I didn't speak up;

Then they came for the Jews, but I was not a Jew, so I didn't speak up;

Then they came for the trade unionists, but I wasn't a trade unionist, so I didn't speak up;

Then they came for the Catholics, but I wasn't a Catholic, so I didn't speak up;

And then they came for me, and there was nobody left to speak up for me.”

This is what can happen to everyone who enjoys any animal if we allow the ball to get rolling. Please take a few minutes to check out the link at the top right of this page and sign or send a letter in.
