My sweet little Lulu. I will never forget the first time I saw GECKOS 007.jpg you. We brought you home for spring break when the science teacher asked us to host you, and we fell in love with you. When she asked us to keep you permanently, we were thrilled! You were our first reptile. We loved you so much that we quickly had 5, but you were first.
DSC01003.jpg I fell in love with your beautiful eyes, first. I loved the way you would turn your head when I spoke to you and you would stare into my eyes so deeply. I loved the way you rubbed your little head on my finger when I put it near your nose.
We never knew how old you were. No one could tell us. I know you started out in a family, then you were in a science classroom, then another and another. You were passed around until we became your family forever.
You were always small compared to other geckos. You were tiny and so incredibly gentle. I loved the way you drew your head back to go in for a kill on a cricket like you were some big, tough giant. I guess to a cricket, you were.
I am going to miss you sitting on my shoulder, snuggling on my chest and most of all....your stare. I already miss the way you came to the glass and put your nose against the glass every night when you wanted to get my attention, and stared until I came. I miss you so much that it just aches inside when I think about you.
You put up such a brave fight and I tried so hard to save you. I miss you incredibly. Sleep well, little sweet Lulu.
