Does anyone here have first-hand experience with shipping reptiles internationally? I am potentially moving to Germany and I would hate to leave my reptiles behind. I have a leopard gecko and a california kingsnake and am having a hard time finding any good information about this process. What is required and what should I expect?

Your best bet is to contact some European or American breeders who ship animals between the US and the Hamm, Germany show. They may even be able to bring the reptiles to Hamm for you for a fee.

Might have you any US breeders that you would recommend? I've already emailed/attempted to contact a couple and have not gotten any responses yet.

Try Steve Sykes at Geckos Etc. I have heard a lot of breeders send their reptiles to him, and then he ships them to the Hamm Show for them. If anything I do know he does ship to Germany so he can send you on the right path. If you can't get a hold by email, often times it is easier to contact a breeder on Facebook if they have it. Thank you. I did send an email to him and am waiting for a response. If I don't get one in the next few days I will try to call him.

I did ship a gecko to Hamm through Steve Sykes for Dragoon Gecko (long story). He sent very precise instructions and, at the time, charged $75/gecko for the shipping (in addition to however much it costs to ship the gecko to him in CA).

The cost for Steve is still around $75 per gecko. He is planning on shipping to Hamm in June.
