I am giving up one of my geckos so someone who will have the time to spend with her and tame her down more. I just got a new job that takes up a lot of my time and I feel like some of my reptiles should have more attention than what I can give so I am down sizing. I was wondering how would I go about shipping my geckos to these people. Like What company is the best to go with to ship, what boxes to use? How to set up the inside of the boxes? And When to use heat packs and cold packs? I really world love detailed replies with maybe even links. I want to make sure my gecko gets where she needs to be safely.

ShipYourReptiles.com is exactly the site for you.

It can seem daunting and even difficult to ship a live reptile, but once you understand the process, it is actually pretty simple and straight forward.

The first thing you need are the proper shipping supplies. Check out our shipping kits, they contain everything you need for a single shipment. Most leopard geckos would be fine in Kit #1. The larger adults may need Kit #2.

Once you have your packaging in hand, you are ready to ship. Many breeders only ship Monday through Wednesdays, which is a fine idea.

You can book your label at ShipYourReptiles.com. Once you have done that, you can drop your package off at the FedEx facility (NOT a FedEx Office/Kinkos, but the actual facility) or we can arrange for a driver to pick up the package from your home or office.

This time of year, the weather is pretty ideal for shipping, not too hot, not too cold. You can find our temperature guidelines, including for heat pack use, at our site, in the ShipYourReptiles Get Help section.

Check out the entire SYR Get Help section, it is packed full of details on shipping safely, responsibly and successfully.

We have customer service staffers available Monday through Friday, 7am to 6pm MST, ready to answer any questions, or even walk you through your first shipment step by step. You can reach them at [email protected] and 303-730-2125.

Best of luck!
