Default THE 2010 GECKOFORUMS.NET CALENDAR PHOTO CONTEST IS HERE!

Well, it's the first day of Fall... and time to start our 2010 GeckoForums.net Calendar Photo Contest!!! GET YOUR PHOTOS ENTERED NOW! Holiday themes seem to be the favorites, so get creative!

Photo entries should be posted on this thread.

We will need a total of 12 winning photos, one for each month of the year to get our 2010 calendar published. Everyone will be able to purchase a copy of the finished calendar through the GeckoForums.net Online Store. They will make GREAT Holiday gifts!

All photos entered will be collected and posted by the month in which they were entered, then voted on by the rest of the GF members in a poll. The winners will receive a FREE GeckoForums.net calendar!

The contest ends on November 1, 2009.

    RULES:

    1. All original photos must be submitted in 300 pixels per inch (118 pixels per cm) resolution.

    2. All original photos must be submitted in 11W x 8.5H inch (21.6 x 27.9 cm) "landscape" format. Photos that are formatted in the "portrait" format will not work on the calendar.

    3. Photos cannot have watermarks, labels (company names, ID #s, etc.), or borders on them.

    4. Members may only submit only ONE photo for each month of the year. For example, you may post one photo for December, one photo for January, one photo for April, etc., for a total of up to 12 photos per member.

    5. All photo entries MUST be submitted with the month labeled for which they are entered. For example, when you post a photo for December, you will need to state it is a submission for 'December'.

    6. If original photos do not meet the size and resolution requirements, they will be disqualified from being entered in the contest. Photos may be resized for posting here of GF.

    7. All acceptable entries will be then posted on individual thread polls for each month on this forum where members can then vote on the photo they like best to represent each month for the 2010 calendar. The winner for each month will have their photo published in the calendar, and receive a FREE calendar as a prize!

    8. All winning photos will have the name of the photographer published with the calendar photo, but GeckoForums.net will have sole and exclusive rights for the publication of the calendar.

We have some EXCELLENT photographers here on GeckoForums.net, so let's see what you can do!

But if you're referring to the OOF (out of focus) parts of the image, then you'll be in for a surprise. I used a special lens for these images.

I would like to remind you that the size requirement is 11" wide by 8.5" high. This means the photos MUST be in the 'landscape' format, and not the 'portrait format.

If you have a really nice photo that is in the portrait format can you still add it if you put a black border on the left and right sides to make it the landscape size ?

PM me if you want a logo made for your site or company. I also make hand-made custom reptile hides and jewelry.

No, I posted a picture but decided to remove it. Since I am not able to Delete my post, I just edited my post.

I don't think there's anything wrong with doing this, I know I did this to a few of our entries last year.. but I too am curious to know the answer to this question!
