We have three backyard chickens taking care of the bug population :) We got them as Easter Egger chicks and I decided to name the one with the most yellow/white Peep after the candy "Peeps". Then my husband said "Well yeah, then we can name each one of them, Little, Bo, and Peep!" At first I thought it was silly since they weren't sheep o_O or lambs even. But the idea grew on me because Little was sort of the scrappy runt of all of them. And my favorite chipmunk colored chick had to be named "Bo" which is a name I'm not too fond of lol But it has stuck, so little bo peep they are!

This is Bo, my favorite. She is pretty tame but kind of slow when it comes to hunting bugs or doing anything independently other than scurrying over to me for treats

This is Bo and Little. Peep looks just like Little now, except instead of a brown patch around her eye, it's white/yellow. Peep was stuck in the coop when we were doing pictures and I didn't want to chase her out. Towards the end, when I was feeding them crickets, she hopped out of the coop (found the door lol) but I didn't get a good shot.

Today our dog Kit, an Alaskan Klee Kai, broke into the chicken run and we thought we lost Bo and Peep. It was so eerie how quiet Little was. Normally when they get seperated, they call to each other. After a long search with a flashlight, we found the two chickens hiding very quietly behind two different corners of the house under the cover of vines and a hose box. They seemed to be okay, but we will need to check them for any injuries in the morning :( I am so glad they are safe, and we will be beefing up security. Until then, they will be safe in their coop and supervised when in the run or free ranging in the fenced backyard.
