I know this isnt a bird forum, but i figured maybe someone would know something, or i could atleast get some help with web surffing for documents.
I was checking for eggs on the farm at school today, when i was on my way out i found one of our barred rocks laying in the cornner, with her head in a bucket and covered in dirt. I grabbed her thinking she was dead and surprisingly shes semi alive. I and the teacher deduced it to a beak injury, her beak had been broken and cracked and was in the process of healing, its actually fine aside from the tip missing. The issue was that the bird had been laying there for so long that it healed and such, she hadnt eaten or moved.(she was well hidden in the big hen house 30ish birds.) So now shes a emaciated little thing, very weak and fatigued. She cant stay awake for more then a few minutes before sleeping. I got her into a old rabbit hutch with hay and some food and water, she drank a TON and wouldnt eat so we used some cornsyrup to atleast get her a little intrested. Im wondering with all the knowledge out there what the best diet to start her off on would be? I knwo there can be dangers in just making her eat normal food, so i was wondering what i need to have her eating. If anyone has any ideas thatd be nice, or can link me.

Thankyou, i have arranged a diet for her. I have her in a nice quite, warm place. She will be getting scramble egg, scratch mixed with soggy feed. Some corn syrup(it gets them to eat and has some fat in it, should keep her from eating to much at once). recipes much appreciated. As far as the forum goes... NO lol. Been there(that forum), done that NO. I have a friend, vet who i managed to contact, i will get my phone fixed tomarrow so i can get better contact. I really appreciate the recipes though. Thanks.

They always do that, the other hens and roos will glady eat the eggs of nesting hens. They will also eat chicks and sick birds.(makes it amazing this one is still alive.)
