Age help?

I just got this little one on Thursday and the previous owner wasn't able to give me even the slightest of clues how old or what gender it might be. I don't have a scale to weigh him or her right now but I was hoping someone could give me a general idea of age by the size? this is my first gecko so I tried to take pictures of his/ her feet and if you notice there is a problem I don't see( like with a post shed) letting me know would be great. I don't even know when the last shed was.

Age is hard to say as reptiles grow based on temperature and nutrition unlike mammals that grow at a consistent rate. Two equally healthy 3 month old geckos can have 15+ grams in size difference based on how they've been kept and fed (in addition to genetics). He looks pretty small in your hand so he's probably relatively young but his color looks like its changed quite a bit already. Most consider them adults about 45g/9 months but most continue to grow to 60-70g or more. Cute little guy!!

Thanks, I'll remember that when I get a chance to weigh him/her! How do the colors change as they get older? I had no idea that would happen, I mean i knew before they would shed they would drastically change, but I didn't realize age/growth was a factor
