No other lizards, no other pets, no food left in the tank, and nothing was in a different place in the tank. I'll probably never know what happened.
What are some signs of infection? I just wanna know ahead of time.
There's not sharp in the tank. A few rough edges, but nothing sharp. I think it's a drop, because it follows right along a ridge in his tail and it goes a little bit underneath the shed.
And does anyone have picture of a gecko right after dropping a tail so I can compare? I'll try to take a picture of mine later, but right now he's hiding in a cave and I don't want to stress him any more.
I woke up this morning to find out that not only had my gecko started shedding, but there was a gash of sorts right on the side of his tail, just at the base. It looks like it's starting to widen up. I'm assuming that it's going to drop. I can't imagine what could have caused this, other than...
I just bought this cave for my leo yesterday as he has completely outgrown his old ones:

He took to it almost immediately, but today he tried to climb up to the top and slid right off. The outside is so smooth and non-porous that he...
Thanks. The toe looks better today. He finished shedding fine after sprayed down his aquarium. The area that he bit scabbed up and the toe past the cut has color, so I'm assuming it's getting blood. I'm gonna take him to the vet tomorrow regardless. His still a little jittery around me, so I'm...
I was away from my house for most of the day today, so I wasn't able to check up on my gecko. His humid hide dried just as he started to shed. When I got home he had shed on his head, over his eyes, and on half of his toes. It looks like he got frustrated and bit one of his toes to get it off...
Meet Buddy:
(pictures aren't great because he was still jittery and I didn't want to set up a tripod)
Those lines on the back are centimeters to give you the idea of his size.
I wasn't gonna name him Buddy but I kept calling him that on the way home and it just stuck.
Any idea...
I'm gonna be a new leo owner in a week and I plan on feeding it both mealworms and crickets. How many should I get at a time so they don't all die before the can be eaten?
