This was my first (and so far only) pet reptile. I opted for the typical beginner non-snake, non-beardie choice. I have had it for about 15 months. It's about 16 months old.
I have reached a point where I really want a more interactive reptile, as well as a tropical one. Unfortunately I don't...

This is my first encounter with the time change. Are you adjusting the timing of your lighting by an hour (if using timing like that) or just leaving it as is and doing things an hour later from your perspective. Bottom line, who's changing? You or your gecko?
Make sure he's facing away from you.
Lightly touch him, uninvited by, and unknown to, your gecko right between his two front legs, along his back.
Watch in amazement as he takes exception to this indignitude and proceeds to express his displeasure by biting the impudent finger thing that dared...
That is not a click-bait title. Just hold on. I'll get to the point, shortly.
A little background. I have a Leo in a 36x18x18 Exo Terra. The substrate is semi-arid mix from Josh's Frogs. I added a combo of backyard live oak (it was boiled, then baked first) and magnolia (ordered online) leaf...
Wow! 50 gal for a single Leo? Nice!
And I thought my Exo-Terra Large/Wide was big.
I’m sure he’ll enjoy it, though don’t be surprised if he’s a little intimidated at first. Mine was.
I can’t speak from experience. Mine also uses repashy cal+ which I provide at each feeding, and also gets a little uvb. Mine does not have sacs.
my suggestion would be to get some vitamin powder without calcium and then alternate between that and the cal+, monitoring the sacs to see if they reduce.
My Leo, who is almost 5 months has switched to eating about 3 times a week. Will literally go hide somewhere away from the 3 “designated “ hides just to avoid eating.
I’m not sure yet if this is due to a semi brumation or just an age related reduction in eating.
still seems a healthy size...
When my Leo was <8weeks, he was pretty enthused with BSFL. Then he went to maybe a couple each feeding. He's a little over 11 weeks now and the last few feedings he just looks at a BSFL and crawls away. But mealworms and dubias? He's all over that. I just ordered some small super-worms. We'll...
Just make sure you are vitamin/calcium/d3 supplementing appropriately. Also consider gut-loading your feeders, if you aren't already. BugBurger is nice and a bottle makes quite a bit of gel. Scrap carrots, a little potato, and other such vegetables a good also. Just pull them if they get...
Like ACPART, I have used CalciumPlus with my baby Leo. I got him at roughly 4 weeks and 6.5g. He's now a little over 11 weeks and is almost 25g. I just dust all feeders with that, every time he is fed. I have not noticed any calcium bubbles thus far. I plan to maintain this until he's 6mos. Then...
I have found “good” prices on BSFL, mealworms and (to a little lesser extent) dubia roaches at dubiaroaches.com. $7.95 shipping on any size order. Ships from Wichita Kansas.
Well, there is no such morph ( that I know of) called diamondback rattler. I was just trying to explain what the patterning in the picture reminded me of.
