I keep mealworms available at all times for mine, they won't become obese while they are actively growing.

The most my one leo ate when she was younger was 12 in one sitting!
I was shocked, but I have read that you should let them eat as many as they want and that they will decide when they are full, she also slowed down as she got older. Just like if you are one to leave a bowl in the cage at all times...they are -going- to eat what they want to eat. I personally feed by hand each day or sometimes every other day depending on how many they have eaten, but they eat until they dont want anymore. It probably averages out NOW to 5-7 each feed.

for me average is anywhere from 4-15...although once, one of my geckos ate 40 lol...
