Might try moving you're thermometer probe around on your UTH, maybe it has a hot spot.
You might try different substrates to attract him to use the humid hide. I have 2 girls that would not use their humid hide when I changed it from paper towels to bed a beast. I put the paper towels back in and they resumed using it. I had two other girls do the opposite - they would only use the humid hide with bed a beast and not paper towels
