    Default Disinfectant spot clean?

So I just wanted to know if its safe to use rubbing alcohol to spot clean? I have been taking a paper towel, putting a small dash of rubbing alcohol on it, then rubbing the spot I'm cleaning for a moment. Afterward I take another paper towel and put water on it and wipe away the rubbing alcohol, I make sure by the end of rubbing that I can't smell the disinfectant anymore. My mom says ammonia (rubbing alcohol)) dissipates very quickly and is a good disinfectant, but we both wanted to make sure it is safe to use.

Ammonia is a lot harsher and would need more thorough rinsing, so it wouldn't make a good spot cleaner.

Rubbing alcohol should be safe as long as the fumes are gone.
