Leopard Geckos
Smile New Gecko Owners, Just Sayin' Hi!

I decided since my fiancé and I are new gecko owners that it'd be wise to get access to those who may have more knowledge then us. I am Victoria and my fiancé is Adric- we're both in college and thought that geckos would be a nice pet to care for while striving for our BA/BS.

We have two geckos that we bought from the pet store and they said that they were about one month old. The one that I picked out I named Bandit because of the dark blue streak between the eyes that look like a mask. The other, whom Adric picked, we named Sunburst because 'she' is almost all yellow and gold. So I thought that the username Daylight Thieves was a witty choice for our geckos.

I say 'she' for Sunburst because I think she is a female even though I know it's too early to tell since they are only months old. But I am hopefully that Sunburst is a she and that Bandit is a 'he' so that someday soon we might have baby geckos crawling around.

If I can ever get decent pictures of Sunburst and Bandit I will post them so that people can see them but my camera is horrible quality through glass and they don't stay still too long outside of the glass.

Well, I suppose that's all for the introductions... I will be posting some questions that I have up about behaviors and such but until then...

The Daylight Thieves and their owners will say farewell!

Sunburst was put down today, sadly... WE had bought her not knowing she had an impaction and I noticed she wasn't feeling well so when I took her to the the vet this morning they said it'd be too dangerous to do surgery on her, so we decided to put her down.

We all miss her dearly and are going to try to get the Pet Store we bought her from replace her or pay for the vet bill since we only just got them six days ago...

Sorry to hear about the impaction, that does suck, but pet stores keep their lizards on sand, which typically leads to impaction. Ask for a refund and tell them they need to change the base of the cages that the lizards are kept in.
