Afraid of her tank??

I got a female AFT saturday from a reptile show and I've got her tank all set up, UTH, hides, etc. I know she's stressed as normal, but heres the kicker. Not only is she not even moving around and not eating, but she seems afraid of being in a tank at all. I'm guessing she was in a rack, maybe even make shift and who knows if she even had a UTH. If I raise the humidity and temps to what is recommended she seems even more stressed ( especially the humidity level. If it goes over 70 percent she really seems to try to get to drier air. Ive tried raising it slowly only to have to back it back down as she will go to the coolest place she can find.

Second issue, with my leo it was getting her used to me was the problem, with my ATF its the opposite. She seems to know me and will even let me pet her and doesn't try to run, but she seems scared to death of being in a tank and having to correct hides and stuff. Suggestions?? I'm honestly starting to think she had no hides at all. She prefers to sleep under a leaf swag I made instead of a hide at all.:main_huh:

Sometimes they take a bit to get settled into their surroundings. When I first got Puzzle (he's an AFT also), he tried a bunch of different places, and I switched his tank around a lot until I got it to how it is now.

You probably want to keep her in a steady environment, and not raise the temps and humidity and then lower them. Keep them at the levels that are recommended for AFTs, and she should settle in, it just may take a few weeks.

I keep Puzzle's tank floor at 88-92, and the air temps on the bottom stay around 85 during the day, and drop to 75ish at night. The humidity levels he seems happiest with are between 45 and 55%, and if I see that he's going to shed soon, I'll turn the humidifier up a little for that day.

What are you using for hides? Do you have a few different ones, plus a humid hide? And what are you using for a humid hide?

She has a middle hide made out of a vine I weaved together ( that seems to be a favorite place, she also has Amara's old large exoterra hide ( Amara got a new one, thier spoiled I know), and her himid hide, made the same as for a leo but spray a bit more. My house normaly is 50 to 60 percent humidity, and her UTH is at 85 with air temps from 83 warm side air to 78 on the cool side I'm running the same digital system as I do for Amara so I know its very accurate. I swear it just like opposite, amara would eat and loved her tank but not me, my ATF is the opposite, she loves me and hates or is afraid of her tank. Go figure!!

I noticed when I gave Puzzle smaller hides, he liked them and used them more. I had a larger humid hide for him and he didn't go in it even once. Then I got a little plastic container, turned it upside down and cut a hole in it, added wet paper towels and put it right over the UTH. It always has droplets on the roof of it so that he can drink, and he lays in it ALL DAY LONG and all night sometimes, too! He has seemed much more content since I added that.

AFTs like a lot humider of a climate than Leos do, and they want somewhere warm and humid they can go hang out. Maybe try that?

Her humid hide is over the UTH, she seems to like the dry cooler one better for some reason. Your is also a baby still correct? Mine isn't. She almost a year ( guessing around 10 months or so) so she fills out a large hide pretty good. She has plenty of fat stored in her body and tail so I'm not too worried if she isnt eating yet. I did noticed she drank some water last night so thats good, also means at some point she moved around alittle.

Here's a pic:
I decided to stick with the original name that popped in my head when I saw her, Cocoa
