These are my first eggs ever that i am hoping will hatch. they have been cooking at 85 for 28days and in the last few days they have gone a little softer then they where. is this a bad sign or does this happen as they grow. here is a pic i know you can't feel em in a picture but ill put it up anyway. i have candled them earlier and there's red with some darker areas. i have been told and read that the dark bits are the gecko. how long should they be cooking for at 85?

They look ok. I'd say it might take fewer than 20 days. My first eggs I incubated At 84 Degrees and they hatched in 46 days.

Good Luck !:)

If your incubating at 85 degrees you should expect them to start hatching around 37days. The color change your seeing could be the egg thinning out. As the embryo grows into a fully formed gecko the egg wall stretches causing a slight color change or opacity. On another note it could also be your female isn't getting enough calcium but the eggs look good. wish you the best on your first!:main_thumbsup:
