dual temp hovobator

I have 2 1602N hovobators.One is empty.I have been fooling around with some empty deli cups to see if I can incubate for both female and males without using the 50/50 ix temp of 86 degrees.i have1 deli cup on the botton and i stacked another deli cup on top.i used a probe to monitor temps on the lower level which was 82 degress.I then put the probe on the top deli and found the temp to be 89-90 deg,obviously because the deli cup is closer to the top heating element.So ,correct me if I'm wrong but the lower deli cup will give me all females and the upper deli cup will give me all males correct?? can anyone tell me why this shouldnt work?

Should based on those temp readings
