FOUR eggs

My Sunglow female......first season breeding her and only her second clutch......she laid FOUR eggs today :main_yes:

I knew that she was about to lay any day so when I checked this morning....there was one and she was still in the lay box in the afternoon....I figured no big deal, I'll just wait till she leaves and I will retrieve the eggs and place then in an incubator in the evening.

Went about to carefully remove the two eggs.........placed those two in the incubator, in it goes to my NS incubator

Went to clean out the lay box and was surprised to see two more eggs hidden in another area of the lay box medium. I just about thrown it all away. I scramble to make room in the deli cup for the other two eggs.

Total of FOUR eggs from this first time female and its her second clutch.

Has this happened much to anyone? I know the norm is two. ALL four eggs have a nice 'bulls eye' on them. We'll see how it goes in the next 60 days.......

I once had a 4 egg clutch, but one was bad from the start and another went bad during incubation.

Yeah, the female looked normal, no larger then her normal self from the first clutch. So far, four 'bullseye' guess I have a 25% chance of each of them. Wish me luck!

yeah, you don't hear much about four eggs at a time. She did not look all that bloated with the extra eggs. Was a total surprise to me. She's all good now, eating again the day after laying those four eggs. Will keep you all posted.

So far so good. Still can see the red veins on all four. Two are beginning to look very nice and the other two is coming along very nicely right behind.

So for this first time female (Sunglow) she is is a 6 for 6. Now its up to me to incubate it.

First clutch of two eggs look beautiful, glowing pink :main_thumbsup:
