My young leo who I've had for almost 3 weeks is doing great. Good thing is he's eating like a champion and is ALWAYS ready to eat! I feed crickets primarily and mealworms. I feed him in the early evenings when he is most active but he is also hungry very late at night/early am. I'm a bartender so I get home sometimes at 3 am and he's very active at this time and HUNGRY! What I have been doing is feeding 2x per day versus one gut-busting meal. I have a backround in nutrition, albeit human, but I feel that feeding smaller more frequent meals is beneficial for other animals I've owned. Does it apply to leos'? What I usually do is feed maybe 8-10 crickets and leave him wanting a bit more, then late I'll feed him more crickets or even like 5-6 mealworms. Right now it seems to be working out as his digestive regularity is like clockwork, poops almost the same time each evening almost right before feeding and his weight gain looks good. Any opinions on this feeding schedule?
