I know! He is only (aprx w/o calender) 2 weeks old and he is already showing his carrot tail. His mom's tail is amazing so i hope he takes after her a lot.

He was incubated for male, but i turned temps up a little late because his sisters were still in there (what i normally do it turn up the incubator at the end of the season to incubate for males, but these eggs were a surprise so i wanted some to be female).

So i can only hope that he will turn out being male.

I was wondering if those were the same geckos...they don't even look the same!
Crazy coloring up; do you think they might have been a few days premature? How many grams were they at birth? You do have some awesome color there, for sure.

They were 2g when they hatched. I dont think they were premies, they seem fully developed and the normal size of a hatchling. There brother is a bit larger than they are though.

When they hatched i thought they were albino, then i thought they have normal eyes but everyone said they could be rainwater eyes which appear dark. The only thing i can think to do would be text breed them next season to a rainwater or a het. If the boy is actualy a boy, im going to cross him back with his mom.

The reason I asked if they were preemies is that color is one of the last things to finish developing, even popping out 3-5 days early might explain their hatchling appearance. I've had a few hatch out oddly pale, slightly early, small birth weight (1-3g vs 3-6g), that color up a lot between 2-3 sheds. Technically, I would call mine like that preemies, they just couldn't wait to get here...it wasn't so early that their lungs weren't ready, just that the paint job wasn't finished. Make any sense in your situation, maybe?

Its always possible that they were a few days early. Its really hard to tell with these guys. The one has gone through her 2nd shed and is still maintaining that pale pink and bright yellow, so im not sure.

thanks
