But I got one, thanks to Bridgette of Miami Leos. I've been searching for a MALE AFGHANICUS for quite a while now and it's always the same thing...there aren't any around! For some reason, you can't temp sex them and it seems that all that pops out is pretty much females no matter the temp you incubate. Well Bridgette was nice enough to let me acquire this fantastic looking boy (originally from Sasobek's) and I couldn't be happier. The lavender, orange and yellow's can't be captured on film, but they are incredible in person. I can't wait to introduce him to two of my other female Afghans, Zoe and Zeena.

Here's "Zeke".

He looks great :main_thumbsup:, but they aren't so hard to find. Eric from OregonGecko has males, even with Halloween Mask or Bold Stripe in them, or Afghan Raptors.

Pure males are definitely hard to find. I jumped at the first one I saw for sale awhile back (thanks Eric). Congrats on the great new addition!

Actually PURE male afghans are very hard to find. Trust me, Eric was one of the first I tried and he has none available for sale. If you know of some magical pure afghan male breeder, please tell us Chrissy! :) There's plenty of crosses out there but hardly any pure afghan males.

Thanks for the nice comments everyone.

If I find them, I'm gonna keep them all to myself, haha :main_laugh:

Naw, just kiddin'... Okay, you didn't mention PURE. Did Michael Ecklund have some?? I darkly remember some very nice looking black and yellow tiger ones he had for sale quite a while ago... Those ARE really hard to find. I admit :p

She's got everything!

Isn't it crazy that no matter what temp you incubate, that they almost always come out female? Maybe I'll get lucky this year and actually get a male. It makes you wonder where the males that are out there actually came from! :main_huh:

The secret to hatching males is to incubate at 85, at least that's what I have found from my experimentation in my laboratory! :)

Why did I just hear this in my head as Dexter (from Dexter's Lab).

Chris, your boy is very colorful, I like his lavender, especially.
