So after much thought into the marble eye morph I took WWGs advice and purchased my breeding project.

Meet my marble eye male:

Thanks all, and yes they came from Craig at TUG. The colors on both the marble eyes are beautiful and I can't wait to see the results of this group :)

Great looking gecko! :main_thumbsup:

Great looking marble eyes, I can't wait to see the potentials of the marble eyes projects :)

The potential is right in front of you. A leopard gecko with eyes that have a black marbled pattern. It will look more then likely be the same in all the other morphs. I want to see this genetics without any tremper genetics to see if this morph is actually worth it. I won't even think about purchasing one until then but that is me.

Yeah, but we need somebody brave and dedicated to work with them and get the Tremper gene out first, so thumbs up for the guys who try :main_thumbsup: :main_yes: I wouldn't mind owning one right now if I could afford it :D

I personally don't mind the tremper gene in there that much, just means that I can't breed with the other strands right now no biggie. And if you take away the marble eyes these two are still awesome, the pics do not do them justice :)

The only thing I will correct, is that the marbling is red, not black.

Now about that quote of "to see if this morph is actually worth it".

I'm not quite sure why it will be worth anything more or less if the tremper is out. The morph is "worth" exactly what he paid for them. If he didn't already love them, I'm sure he wouldn't of spent the money on them in the first place. So I say, enjoy what you have, they are spectacular just the way they are. The tremper doesn't need to be bred out to make them worth anything. They can already be bred to any non-albino morph you prefer and produce crazy looking marbled eye morphs that will be poss. het tremper. What's wrong with that? Just be absolutely, positively 100% sure that they are not another strain of albino before you breed them to anything. If you are going to do this, I suggest contacting the creator about how to do it the proper way.

This has already been done, trust me.

Don't worry Chrissy, you will be able to afford one early next year after you get rid of some more of your smoking hot neons! I'll take care of you.

I can have my own opinion can't I? You seem to pull me out constantly because I have a different opinion then you.

The only thing I will correct, is that the marbling is red, not black.

Most marbled eyed geckos I have seen have black and the Tremper gene could give it a red tint but your the one who spent the money on your new leopard gecko collection with the marbled eyes so I will take your word.

I'm not quite sure why it will be worth anything more or less if the tremper is out. The morph is "worth" exactly what he paid for them. If he didn't already love them, I'm sure he wouldn't of spent the money on them in the first place.

I do think that a pure Marbled Eyed gecko would be worth more then when it is with the tremper gene. Just like I believe a pure eclipse is worth more then Raptor. That's MY opinion.

You also don't need to talk to the creator to understand how to breed out the tremper gene. Just researching and understanding genetics will tell you what you need to do. If you don't know that then you shouldn't even be thinking about breeding. It takes more then owing geckos for less then a year to understand their complex amount of genetics.

Justin,
You get your feeling hurt very easily. I didn't "pull you out" for anything. Your more than entitled to your opinion. I think that if you don't like the current Marble eye, then maybe you should keep your opinions to yourself. The OP just spent a bunch of money on them, so I'm sure they don't appreciate a bashing of the likes of "I wouldn't even think of buying one of these". Your opinion or not, it's rude. This is there glory moment of owning probably the coolest new morph (my opinion) out there and they don't need someone talking crap about it. Start another post and post your feeling there maybe.

BTW, you are correct about the black, but they are only in non-albino marble eyes. The majority of marble eyes are sunglows and the eyes are red, so I apologize about that.

WHERE IN MY POST DID I SINGLE YOU OUT OR OFFEND YOU? Seriously, WHERE?? I re-read my post again and I didn't say you were wrong on anything or nothing like that! I said there is nothing wrong with the current morph on the market. That's MY opinion. Being your so concerned about respecting yours, maybe you should respect others. Chrissy stated pretty much the same thing, that she would love one right now as well. Why didn't you attack her? I simply stated that they are "worth" exactly what they paid. Nothing more, nothing less. I don't want to fight bro, so please don't try starting one. I lost my dog today and the last thing I need is GF drama. You don't own marble eyes, so maybe you shouldn't be commenting on them when you know nothing about them.

I have spoken with Matt about breeding them into other morphs simply for the fact that I wanted an opinion from someone who has worked with them for several years. I was talking about breeding the Marble Eye into other morphs and how to do it correctly, not about breeding out the Tremper. If you think I shouldn't be breeding, then again, that's your opinion your entitled to. Your dead wrong, but it's your opinion. I meant no ill will towards you Justin, so please don't take it that way. The OP private messaged me and we were discussing why people are so obsessed with getting the tremper out. It's no biggie. Relax. Let's bury the hatchet bro. We are both here for fun, not to bash people geckos when they post them.

personally i was just wondering if the marbled eye had any other traits associated with it. you know how the eclipse trait has the speckles (among others traits) associated with it? i was wondering if there is anything associated with the marbled eyes other than the eye characteristic?

if not then theyre still cool of course. i was just wondering about other traits.

What hatchet is there to bury? We don't get along that well and that's it. We obviously have different opinions and I am fine with that. I never said anything to attack anyone and stated what I said "is just me." I haven't bashed anything what so ever so quit putting words in my mouth. If people want to get hyped up over a morph that really has yet to be exactly 100% proven then by all means go ahead. Just don't jump into leopard geckos and act like you know everything and everyone else is DEAD WRONG.

Where did I say West Coast Geckos shouldn't be breeding? I said if you don't know the basic genetics then you shouldn't be breeding. YOUR the one who put YOURSELF in that category by saying that.

I am actually laughing right now wondering why I am having this conversations with you again. I shouldn't because I am dead wrong and your 100% correct. How can I be so stupid. It will be the last time.
