preffered watt of bulb

hi I have two baby leos in a 10 gallon tank and I was wondering what wattage of bulb someone might use. Right now it's 60 watts and I have two tank heaters and yet it rarely gets up to 80. So if someone would let me know what wattage might work that would be great.

There is no correct wattage based on cage size, it all depends on ambient temperatures in the room. That being said, I suspect that you have a bad thermometer if you are running two heat pads and a light and the temp reads less than 80 degrees.

When I used lights I used 75 watts for a 10 gallon. But I would only go with the UTH. It is much easier.

I wouldnt use a light on leopard geckos. Not unless it was a ceramic bulb which dont give off light.

I have a cover for my tank but I don't use it that often.

I would either get a new UTH or a new thermometer.. The thermometer is suppose to be on the floor, and that is the temp that you want read. They need belly heat, not ambient heat as much. So, just make sure your probe is on the ground. It should be in the mid 90's
